Scott Dorsey became the third director of the Spirit of the Valley when he joined the Chorus in 2005. When
not working with the ladies of the Spirit of the Valley, Scott finds time to serve as the Director of Choral Activities
and Chairman of the Department of Music at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio.
Obviously unable to concentrate on any one subject area, Scott is in significant demand as an author (with nearly 200
articles and two books published), a guest conductor & speaker (over 150 appearances from coast-to-coast), and a
flight instructor.
Scott holds the Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice from Nebraska Wesleyan University, the Master of Arts degree in Choral
Conducting from California State University and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University
of Iowa.
